Will I see you at my first YouTube live stream TONIGHT (Monday, 2.5.24)?

Hello Hifi Friends, I'm attempting my first live stream on YouTube, tonight, (Monday, 2.5.24) at 7pm CST. The purpose of the live stream is to hang out and answer questions, but I'll also have a stack of cheap CDs (and some vinyl and cassettes) that I've recently purchased to show you in between questions. There are a couple of CDs that surprised me...especially finding a one released by an indie record label I interned for in Los Angeles almost 25 years ago! I believe you can follow this...

Hi Everyone, I love all things analog, but I grew up mostly listening to CDs and therefore have owned many traditional CD players over the years. As vinyl prices continue to rise, I've begun to venture back into the digital world (who can pass up a CD copy of Miles Davis' A Silent Way CD for just $1?) and stumbled into the rabbit hole of external DACs and CD transports. What is a CD transport? In short, it's a CD player that does not have an internal DAC so you have to connect it to an...

Hi Everyone, I review a lot of audio gear which requires moving products in and out of my home audio system. Some of these components are brand new while others are vintage. I now own a handful of products that make using vintage gear much easier and I wanted to share those quickly with you. (Should you consider purchasing these items, I will earn a small commission which helps fund my purchases of new products to review.) Banana To Spade Adapter Plug If you have a vintage amplifier that uses...

Hi Everyone, I recently purchased a broken turntable from a member of my family whose Dad, the table's original owner, passed away last year. Actually, I didn't know the turntable was broken at the time I purchased it, but once I got it home and plugged everything up, the platter would not stop spinning. Also, the ground cable was missing from the table which resulted in a horrible hum while in operation. The turntable is a Technics SL-D30, a line of tables that I personally love. This is a...

Hi Everyone, I have an online store stocked full of vinyl records and cassettes, just in time for the holiday weekend. I'm sending this link out EARLY to you, as an email subscriber, before I promote it on social media this weekend. I offer FREE US SHIPPING and my prices are set in order to sell! (International folks, I apologize for the shipping prices, but it's the best I can do.) Money from these sales goes back into buying gear for the blog and YouTube channel. Most of these are records...

Hi Everyone, Welcome to the new subscribers here at the Forever Analog newsletter. I just passed 300 subscribers and to be honest, of all the numbers out there for Forever Analog, (3k Instagram followers, 6.5k YouTube subs, etc), this 300 is the most special to me. Thank you for joining me here to talk about my audio journey and reviewing products that hopefully can help you build a great audio system as well. (Insert Andrew Gold's Thank You For Being A Friend here) That being said, I...

Hello Audio Friends, Schiit Audio has been very busy lately, releasing several new products, including their new amplifiers, the 2 watt Rekkr and the 10 watt Gjallarhorn. Both of these units are small in size, low in wattage and class AB in design. I think these amps are Schiit's attempt to compete with all of these inexpensive class D amplifiers from China that have become popular in the last year or so. I bought both the Rekkr and the Gjallarhorn the day they were announced and recently...

Hi Everyone, Most audio gear released today has a Bluetooth connection option allowing you to easily stream music. I recently spent a couple of weeks comparing two new wireless streamers, the Arylic S10 and the WiiM Mini. Following the review, I found it hard to go back and listen to streaming music via Bluetooth as everything sounded thin and flat. Why? Well, Bluetooth audio has to compress the audio signal much more than a wireless streamer which is connected to your home's wifi, providing...

Hi Everyone, What does a tiny 2 watt per channel, class A/B amplifier sound like? Can I use it at work? Can I use it in my home stereo setup? How does it compare with a class D amplifier? These were just some of the questions I had when Schiit announced the release of their new Rekkr amplifier. It sells for $149 (plus shipping) and at only 2 watts per channel, I had to buy one immediately to review. I decided to compare the Rekkr to the popular class D amp, the Aiyima T9 Pro, since I think...

Hi Everyone, Welcome to all of the new subscribers. I've been promoting the mailing list as a place where I would like to sell records and I think I finally figured out an easy way to do so. Buy My Records! I've been selling records on eBay, Discogs and at record shows for years now, but have recently wanted to sell direct to people following Forever Analog on Instagram, YouTube and more. I decided to open a Big Cartel store front with a small selection of records to sell each time I send out...
